World Heritage is a designation given to “places on Earth that are of outstanding universal value to humanity” and therefore should be “protected for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.” As of 2020, there are 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United States, with the most recent—The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright—being added in July 2019.
